Man United Prioritise Watkins Transfer Amid £60m Villa Valuation

Manchester United are prioritizing strengthening their striking options ahead of the new season, with Aston Villa's Ollie Watkins and RB Leipzig's Benjamin Sesko emerging as their top targets. Watkins, a proven Premier League goalscorer with 75 top-flight goals and an England international, is valued by Villa at around £60 million, but United hope to negotiate a compromise closer to £45 million. Sesko, a younger forward with Bundesliga experience, faces competition from Newcastle, and his higher asking price of about £70 million complicates a potential move. United have ruled out pursuing Chelsea's Nicolas Jackson due to his £80 million price tag and are looking to fund new signings through player sales, including Alejandro Garnacho, Antony, Jadon Sancho, and Tyrrell Malacia. The club has already invested heavily this summer, spending nearly £130 million on Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo, both of whom have Premier League experience and can also play in attacking roles. While negotiations for Watkins or Sesko may extend into the late stages of the transfer window, United remain determined to secure a leading striker to address their scoring issues from last season.
