‘Gilmore Girls’ Documentary in Works for 25th Anniversary

To mark the 25th anniversary of the beloved series Gilmore Girls, a new documentary titled Searching For Stars Hollow is in production, aiming to explore the show's significant role in American cultural history. The documentary will feature interviews with many cast members including Kelly Bishop, Jared Padalecki, Chad Michael Murray, Keiko Agena, Sally Struthers, and others, alongside behind-the-scenes insights from crew, writers, and directors. Directed by Meghna Balakumar and Kevin Konrad Hanna, with executive producer Adam F. Goldberg, the film has already gathered over 100 hours of footage revealing new stories, commentary, and critiques about the show’s impact and legacy. Notably, the two main stars, Alexis Bledel and Lauren Graham, as well as creator Amy Sherman-Palladino, have not yet been confirmed to participate, though filming continues with hopes for further additions. The documentary is being produced by Ink On Paper Studios and is expected to offer a comprehensive and fresh perspective on the dramedy that ran for seven seasons and remains a streaming favorite. No official release date has been announced yet, but the project is actively progressing and engaging fans through platforms like Kickstarter.
