Trevor Bayliss Resigns as London Spirit Coach

Trevor Bayliss has parted ways with the London Spirit after three seasons, having achieved only three wins in the last two years, including a disappointing finish at the bottom of the table in 2024. Initially replacing the late Shane Warne, Bayliss led the team to the Eliminator in his first season, but subsequent performances saw the Spirit struggle significantly. London Spirit's general manager, Fraser Stewart, expressed gratitude for Bayliss's efforts but noted the need for a new approach. The team's poor showing was starkly contrasted by the success of their women's side, which secured their first title in 2024 under coach Ashley Noffke. Bayliss's coaching reputation has waned, having also been replaced at Punjab Kings earlier this year, while he remains in charge of Sydney Thunder. The club is now seeking a replacement, with candidates including James Foster and Paul Collingwood.
