Fatal Christmas Eve Shootings in Georgia and NC

Two separate fatal shootings occurred on Christmas Eve, one in Gainesville, Georgia, and the other in Fayetteville, North Carolina. In Gainesville, 37-year-old Demetrius Few was arrested after allegedly shooting two people at an encampment, resulting in the death of Ashley Marie Hill and the injury of a 36-year-old man, with charges of malice murder and aggravated assault being filed against him. Meanwhile, in Fayetteville, 20-year-old Malakai Woods was shot and killed inside a home on Gardenwood Court, with authorities stating the shooting was not random as Woods and the suspect were acquainted, though no arrests have been made yet. In another Fayetteville incident, a woman was also fatally shot on Candleberry Court, but her identity remains undisclosed as her family has not been notified. Both Fayetteville incidents are under active investigation, and detectives are seeking public assistance for information.
