FBI Disrupts Alleged ISIS-Inspired Plot in Michigan

The FBI and state police arrested multiple people Friday morning in suburban Detroit (Dearborn and Inkster) after executing raids, search warrants and subpoenas in an operation officials say stopped a potential Halloween-weekend attack. Investigators said the plot appeared inspired by Islamic State extremism and was discussed in online chatrooms where suspects allegedly referenced a coded “pumpkin day.” The FBI Joint Terrorism Task Force and the Detroit field office were involved, and authorities seized phones, computers, weapons and other evidence; court documents are sealed and the exact number and ages of suspects have not been confirmed (some outlets report five arrests).
