Dolphins Hire Slowik, Reuniting with McDaniel

Bobby Slowik, former offensive coordinator for the Houston Texans, has been appointed as the senior passing game coordinator for the Miami Dolphins. This move reunites him with head coach Mike McDaniel, with whom he worked on the San Francisco 49ers' coaching staff from 2017 to 2021. Slowik was dismissed by the Texans after a challenging 2024 season, which saw the team's offensive performance decline, partly due to quarterback C.J. Stroud's regression following an impressive rookie year. In Miami, Slowik will help develop quarterback Tua Tagovailoa, aiming to improve the Dolphins' offense, which faced a downturn last season. His brother, Ryan Slowik, is already part of the Dolphins' coaching staff as a defensive backs coach. Despite the Texans' recent struggles, Slowik was previously considered a promising head coaching candidate.
