NTSB investigates fatal plane crashes in Ashland County, Dallas County, Kansas
The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) is investigating a fatal plane crash in Ashland County, Ohio, where a single-engine Express 2000 FT aircraft piloted by 72-year-old Gary Wolfelt crashed shortly after departing from Burke Lakefront Airport. Wolfelt, the only person on board, died in the incident, and severe weather may have been a contributing factor. The crash occurred near the intersection of state Route 89 and Township Road 902 in Jackson Township, with local authorities and the FAA also involved in the investigation. The NTSB scheduled a press briefing to provide updates on the case. Flight data indicated the plane took off in rainy conditions before the crash. Wolfelt was returning home to Indiana when the accident happened.
