Tebas, who is currently leading efforts against audiovisual piracy, stated that Vinicius was likely in Madrid and thus should have accessed the match through the official Spanish broadcaster, Movistar. He emphasized that to view the match legally, one would need a VPN or a satellite dish directed elsewhere, thereby indicating active wrongdoing. Tebas has been vocal about the estimated €700 million loss La Liga incurs annually due to illegal streaming, which has surged in recent years. While Vinicius is sidelined with an injury and unlikely to face severe penalties, the incident has sparked broader discussions about piracy in Spanish football.
