Michigan Toddler Dies After Window Blind Cord Incident at Birmingham Hotel

A 2-year-old boy from Canton, Michigan, named Kiere DeAndre Jaden Daniels Jr. tragically died after becoming entangled in a window blind cord at the Hampton Inn in Birmingham, Alabama. The incident occurred on July 4, 2025, and despite efforts including CPR on scene and life support at Children’s of Alabama, Kiere passed away on July 10. The family was in Birmingham for a reunion, and an adult parent was asleep in the room when the accident happened. Birmingham police are investigating the circumstances but have found no evidence of foul play. Authorities and the Jefferson County Coroner’s Office have confirmed the death was accidental. The hotel has not yet responded to requests for comment regarding the incident.
