Teen DUI Driver Arrested After Crashing Into Police Car at Fatal Fountain Valley Collision

A fatal pedestrian accident occurred Sunday night at the intersection of Warner Avenue and Los Jardines Street in Fountain Valley, where 35-year-old Alexandra Payerli of Santa Ana was struck by a gray Toyota Corolla driven by a 17-year-old male from Westminster. Payerli was transported to a local hospital but later died from her injuries. While police were investigating this fatal collision, a separate incident happened at the same location when a DUI driver crashed into an unoccupied police car with activated emergency lights, resulting in the DUI driver's arrest and damage to the police vehicle. No officers were injured in the DUI crash, but the police car was rendered out of service. Authorities continue to investigate the fatal crash and are seeking witnesses.
