Huawei Launches Second Tri-Fold Mate XTs in China
Huawei has launched the Mate XTs, its second-generation tri-fold smartphone, primarily available in China with prices starting at about $2,520. The device retains the tri-fold design with a 10.2-inch OLED LTPO display that can fold into 7.9-inch dual-screen or 6.4-inch single display modes and supports stylus input, marking a first for Huawei's folding phones. Powered by the Kirin 9020 chipset, the Mate XTs features a triple camera setup with a 50MP main sensor, a 40MP ultrawide camera, and a 12MP periscope telephoto lens, alongside a large 5,600mAh battery supporting fast wired and wireless charging. Huawei runs its Harmony OS 5 on the phone, navigating US sanctions that limit access to Android services. Beyond hardware upgrades, the Mate XTs emphasizes software enhancements that enable desktop-style productivity apps, transforming the foldable device into a genuine mobile workstation for professional users. Huawei's continued innovation and strong market presence have made it the leading foldable smartphone vendor in China, holding 75% of the market share and driving significant revenue despite ongoing international challenges.
