This victory follows Draper's straight-set win over Italy's Mattia Bellucci, marking his first singles win since reaching the US Open semi-finals earlier this month. Draper, ranked 20th in the world, continues his strong performance despite being unseeded in Tokyo and overcoming multiple shoulder injuries. His win against Hurkacz leaves only three of the eight seeded players remaining in the tournament. Draper will face either American Brandon Nakashima or France’s Ugo Humbert in the next round.
