Kīlauea Man Arrested After Illegal Firework Explosion Under Parked Car

A 24-year-old man named Bronze Robson was arrested in Kīlauea, Hawaii, after setting off an illegal aerial firework that exploded under a parked car in a residential neighborhood, causing a significant police response. The incident occurred around 11:30 a.m., and surveillance footage captured Robson igniting the firework before it spiraled out of control and detonated. Despite the dangerous blast, no injuries were reported. Robson faces charges of Reckless Endangering in the Second Degree, with bail set at $1,000, and he is currently held in the Kīlauea Police Department cellblock. Assistant Chief Darren Rose emphasized the serious risks illegal fireworks pose to lives and property and urged the public to report such dangerous activities, highlighting that possession or use of illegal fireworks is a criminal offense under Hawai‘i law.
