Apple has delayed the mass production of its foldable MacBook to late 2027 or even 2028 due to technical challenges with the device's components, according to analyst Ming-Chi Kuo. The company had initially planned for a 20.25-inch display but has now settled on an 18.8-inch screen. Earlier rumors about a foldable iPad slated for a 2025 release have also been cast into doubt, with no new information available from the supply chain. Kuo speculated some market analysts might have confused this foldable MacBook with the foldable iPad. The foldable MacBook is expected to feature a crease-free panel, a high-cost design goal involving both the panel and hinge, and may use the M5 series processor. Despite the delays, Apple continues to experiment with various foldable device designs.
