Delaware Exhibition Highlights WWII Service Stories

Several initiatives are underway to honor women who served in the military, particularly during World War II. The Veterans National Memorial Shrine and Museum in Fort Wayne, Indiana, is fundraising for a new monument dedicated to women veterans, which will consist of three pieces made from limestone and red granite, with a completion target of August 2026. The museum aims to raise $150,000 for this long-overdue tribute, highlighting the significant contributions of women in the military and their roles during the wars. Additionally, the California Museum has launched a traveling exhibit titled 'Our War Too: Women in Service,' recognizing the contributions of nearly 350,000 American women during World War II. These efforts reflect a growing acknowledgment of women's roles in military history and their impact on society. Both projects aim to inspire and educate future generations about the vital service and sacrifices made by women in the armed forces.
