Tampa Bay Sun FC Celebrate Inaugural USL Championship With Boat Parade

The Tampa Bay Sun Football Club celebrated a historic inaugural season by winning the USL Super League Championship, defeating Fort Lauderdale FC 1-0 in a dramatic final. To honor this achievement, the team held a boat parade along the Hillsborough River on June 18, starting at the Armature Works Pier with Tampa Mayor Jane Castor and fans welcoming the players. The parade route mirrored the team's unique game day tradition of arriving by boat to Riverfront Stadium, reinforcing the club's strong connection to the local waterfront community. The parade included trophy presentations, fan interactions, photo opportunities, and free giveaways, marking Tampa Bay Sun FC as the region’s first professional women’s sports team to win a title. This celebration continued Tampa Bay's recent tradition of champion boat parades, initiated during the COVID-19 pandemic with the Lightning and Bucs victories. The Sun finished their first season with a strong record of 14 wins, including 10 at home, and remained undefeated in their last six matches.
