Streep Films Devil Wears Prada 2 in Milan

At Milan Fashion Week, Meryl Streep appeared in character as Miranda Priestly at Dolce & Gabbana’s show—joined by Stanley Tucci and Simone Ashley—as production filmed scenes for The Devil Wears Prada 2; Dolce & Gabbana confirmed the footage was shot for the sequel. Backstage footage widely shared online captured Streep embracing Vogue editor Anna Wintour, a moment that blurred fiction and fashion. The sequel reunites Streep, Tucci, Anne Hathaway and Emily Blunt and adds Kenneth Branagh, Lucy Liu, Justin Theroux, B.J. Novak and Pauline Chalamet to the cast. Original director and screenwriter collaborators are reported to be returning to the project. The film, based in part on Lauren Weisberger’s novel Revenge Wears Prada: The Devil Returns and following Runway magazine’s struggle with the decline of print, is scheduled for release on May 1, 2026.
