Starz Greenlights 18-Episode Power Prequel Series Origins

Starz has officially greenlit 'Power: Origins,' an 18-episode prequel series exploring the early lives of fan-favorite characters James “Ghost” St. Patrick and Tommy Egan as ambitious teenagers trying to make their mark on New York's criminal underworld. The series promises a fun and rambunctious look at their rise before the events of the original 'Power' series, answering long-held questions and adding new layers to the franchise's lore. MeKai Curtis will reprise his role as young Kanan Stark, linking this prequel to the existing 'Power' universe continuity. Sascha Penn returns as showrunner, writer, and executive producer, with Courtney A. Kemp, Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson, Mark Canton, Chris Selak, and Pete Chatmon also producing. 'Power: Origins' is the fourth spin-off in the expanding franchise, following the concluded 'Power Book II: Ghost,' the soon-to-conclude 'Power Book III: Raising Kanan,' and the upcoming final season of 'Power Book IV: Force.'
