Landlord Finds 200 Urine Bottles, Two Years of Rubbish Left by Tenant in Plymouth

Landlord Jan Pringle faced a shocking discovery after evicting a tenant who left his Plymouth flat in a horrific condition, filled with two years' worth of rubbish including 200 bottles of urine and bags of feces. The tenant, who had refused inspections during their two-year stay, left the one-bedroom basement flat nearly inaccessible due to three feet of trash piled behind the door. Pringle described the overwhelming stench and humidity inside the flat, stating he had to wear a mask and gloves to navigate through the filth. He expressed concern for the tenant, noting that they had slipped through the cracks of the system and required help rather than anger. Pringle has since hired a forensic cleaning company to restore the property before renting it out again. He emphasized that the situation reflects broader issues within the support systems for vulnerable individuals.
