Body of Missing Man Cumali Turhan Found

Cumali Turhan, 46, was reported missing after last being seen at The Globe pub in Chelmsford on November 19. After a 45-day search, Essex Police discovered his body at a landfill site on January 11. The investigation has identified Ceyhan Dinler, 38, as a suspect, who left the UK on the same day Turhan disappeared. Additionally, Ciprian Ilie, 44, has been charged with assisting an offender and preventing the lawful burial of a body; he has pleaded not guilty and is set to stand trial in September. Detective Chief Inspector Louise Metcalfe praised the resilience of the specialist officers involved in the challenging search conditions. The police continue to urge anyone with information to assist in the ongoing investigation.
