Prince William Unveils 15 Earthshot Prize Finalists

Prince William has announced the 15 finalists for the 2024 Earthshot Prize, chosen from a record 2,500 nominations across 139 countries. Each finalist presents innovative solutions addressing urgent climate challenges, competing for £1 million each to scale their initiatives. The Earthshot Prize aims to recognize and support impactful environmental solutions in five categories: Protect and Restore Nature, Clean Our Air, Revive Our Oceans, Build A Waste-Free World, and Fix Our Climate. The finalists include diverse contenders, such as the Amazon Sacred Headwaters Alliance and companies providing clean energy solutions across Africa. The winners will be selected by a panel that features notable figures including Queen Rania of Jordan and Sir David Attenborough, with the final event scheduled for Cape Town in November. This initiative, which began in 2020, continues to grow in influence and reach regarding global environmental innovation.
