No NHL Discipline for Bennett on Stolarz Hit
Florida Panthers forward Sam Bennett will not face supplemental discipline from the NHL after his hit to the head of Toronto Maple Leafs goaltender Anthony Stolarz during Game 1 of their playoff series. Stolarz, who was struck by Bennett's forearm while defending on a power play, left the game with concussion symptoms, was hospitalized, and released the following day. Bennett stated he did not intend to injure Stolarz, reached out to his former teammate, and expressed sympathy. Maple Leafs coach Craig Berube criticized the lack of a penalty, while the Leafs organization is focusing on the rest of the series. Bennett, who has a history of controversial hits, has not been disciplined for this or previous incidents. Fan outrage and calls for retribution have intensified, with both teams preparing for Game 2 as Stolarz's status remains uncertain.
