Man Arrested After Stealing Ambulance, Crashing in Indianapolis

A man was arrested in Indianapolis after stealing an unoccupied ambulance parked near East 21st Street and North Shadeland Avenue around 11 a.m. on Tuesday. He crashed the ambulance into another vehicle before abandoning it and fleeing on foot, but police apprehended him shortly thereafter in the 2400 block of North Arlington Avenue. Fortunately, there were no reported injuries from the incident. The ambulance was reportedly left parked while the EMS crew was inside a nearby business. The vehicle suffered significant damage, including a blown tire and a cracked windshield. Police confirmed that no patients were on board the ambulance at the time of the theft.
