Mega Millions Ticket Price to Increase April 8

Mega Millions is set to increase the price of a single-play ticket from $2 to $5 beginning April 8, alongside several game enhancements. The changes include a higher starting jackpot, now set at $50 million, and improved odds for winning both the jackpot and non-jackpot prizes, with overall odds improving from 1 in 24 to 1 in 23, and jackpot odds improving from 1 in 302 million to 1 in 290 million due to the removal of one gold Mega Ball. Non-jackpot prizes will also significantly increase, with the minimum prize starting at $10, ensuring all winning tickets pay out more than the cost of play. A new built-in multiplier of up to 10 times will be introduced, further increasing potential winnings.
