ICE Agent Fires Shots After Suspects Attempt Vehicle Attack Colorado Springs

In Colorado Springs, two individuals suspected of being in the country illegally attempted to ram their vehicle into U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officers during an enforcement operation. An ICE agent fired three shots into the vehicle to protect the officers, after which the suspects fled and abandoned the vehicle. No injuries were reported, but the suspects remain at large amid a continuing law enforcement search. The El Paso County Sheriff's Office issued a shelter-in-place order for residents within a quarter-mile radius of Burgess Road due to the ongoing investigation and law enforcement presence. The FBI Denver has joined the investigation, describing it as an alleged assault on a federal officer. ICE highlighted an increase in assaults against its officers and condemned violent rhetoric inciting hostility towards them.
