Khaleda Zia returns home after treatment, crowd gathers at airports
BNP Chairperson and former Prime Minister Khaleda Zia is returning to Bangladesh after four months of medical treatment in London, traveling aboard a special air ambulance arranged by the Emir of Qatar. Her son and BNP acting chairman, Tarique Rahman, personally drove her to Heathrow Airport, where a large crowd of party supporters gathered to see her off. Khaleda is accompanied on the journey by her daughters-in-law, personal physician, and medical team, with a scheduled layover in Doha before arriving in Dhaka. The BNP has made elaborate preparations for her reception, while both party officials and Dhaka police have urged supporters to remain on sidewalks, avoid causing traffic disruption, and refrain from carrying bags or joining the motorcade. These measures aim to minimize public inconvenience, especially as her arrival coincides with the SSC examinations in Dhaka. Khaleda’s residence and party arrangements have been readied in anticipation of her return.
