British Woman Appears Sri Lanka Court Drug Trafficking Case

Charlotte May Lee, a 21-year-old former flight attendant from South London, appeared in court in Sri Lanka after being arrested at the country's main international airport for allegedly carrying £1.2 million worth of Kush cannabis in her luggage. Customs described it as their largest drug seizure to date. Lee denies knowledge of the drugs and insists they were planted, stating she knows who did it and traveled to Sri Lanka to wait while renewing her Thai visa. She has not been formally charged and could face up to 25 years in prison if found guilty. Her lawyer noted she is struggling emotionally but trying her best, with her family providing support amid their distress; however, there has been no confirmed contact with the British Foreign Office regarding her case.
