Lakers Set to Sign Koloko Pending Clearance

The Los Angeles Lakers are set to sign former Toronto Raptors center Christian Koloko to a two-way contract, pending clearance from the NBA's Fitness-to-Play Panel due to his previous blood clot issues. Koloko, who averaged 3.1 points, 2.9 rebounds, and 1 block per game in his rookie season, was waived by the Raptors in January after being sidelined by his health condition. The Lakers need to waive one of their current two-way players—Colin Castleton, Blake Hinson, or Armel Traore—to make room for Koloko, who is expected to bolster their injury-depleted frontcourt. Despite competition from other teams like the Clippers and Spurs, the Lakers emerged as the frontrunners. Koloko has been practicing and is reportedly off blood thinners, indicating a significant recovery from his health issues.
