Multiple Teen Shootings Kill At Least Three Halloween Parties

Multiple Halloween house parties across the U.S. turned deadly over the weekend, with shootings reported in Chula Vista, Calif.; West Valley City, Utah; and Clifton (Mesa County), Colo. In Chula Vista two teens, ages 15 (identified by family as Kane Roldan) and 17, were shot at a house party on East Prospect Street and later died despite life-saving efforts; friends and family held a candlelight vigil and police are asking witnesses to come forward, with Crime Stoppers offering a $1,000 reward. In West Valley City a fight at a house party spilled into the street and multiple people opened fire, leaving a 17-year-old boy dead and a 15-year-old girl in critical condition amid chaotic scenes captured on surveillance. In Clifton deputies responding just before midnight found two victims with life-threatening injuries; both were pronounced dead and the Mesa County Sheriff’s Office is treating the case as a double homicide. Authorities in each jurisdiction urged anyone with video, photos or information to contact investigators as probes continue into motives, suspects and what precipitated the shootings.
