LA28, Oklahoma City Mark 1000 Days to Olympic Games with Venue Confirmations

Los Angeles is preparing to host the 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games, emphasizing a vision called "Games for All" that focuses on youth sports, accessibility, business opportunities, and sustainability to benefit the community and infrastructure. Mayor Karen Bass highlighted the city's commitment to expanding low-cost youth and adaptive sports programs funded by LA28 and the IOC. The countdown to the Games reached 1,000 days with joint celebrations in Los Angeles and Oklahoma City, where officials marked the city's role as host for the softball and canoe slalom events. LA28 Chair Casey Wasserman and CEO Reynold Hoover, alongside Oklahoma City Mayor David Holt, emphasized the nationwide collaborative spirit and legacy of sport, aiming to utilize existing venues like OKC Softball Park and OKC Whitewater Center to broaden the Olympic experience beyond Los Angeles. The events included youth clinics featuring Olympians and Paralympians, reinforcing the Games' community impact. Los Angeles will host the Olympics for the third time, with the Games scheduled for July and the Paralympics for August 2028.
