Head-On Crash Kills 1, Injures 1 on State Road 11 Florida

A fatal head-on collision occurred on State Road 11 near State Road 40 in Pierson, Volusia County, resulting in one death and one injury. A 2020 Nissan Kicks traveling southbound suddenly veered into the northbound lane and collided with a 2022 Chevrolet Silverado towing a trailer. The driver of the Nissan, an adult male, was pronounced dead at the scene, while the driver of the Silverado, a 46-year-old man from Palm Coast, sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was hospitalized. The crash led to the closure of both directions of State Road 11 as authorities continue their investigation. This incident marks the third traffic fatality in Pierson over the week, following a deadly train collision involving two brothers.
