Driver Flees Scene After Joliet Crash

A 23-year-old driver from Missouri died after fleeing from Valdosta police and crashing his pickup truck early Saturday morning. The vehicle was observed driving recklessly before the officer attempted a traffic stop, but the driver accelerated and ultimately lost control, leading to a fatal wreck. In a separate incident in Joliet, Illinois, a crash early Sunday morning involving a Chevrolet Aveo and a Saturn Aura resulted in one man hospitalized in critical condition. The driver of the Saturn fled the scene after rear-ending the Chevrolet, which rolled over. Authorities believe the individuals involved may have been connected to an earlier altercation at a nearby bar, and the investigation is ongoing.
