Filming Begins for Taika Waititi's FING in Queensland
Filming has commenced on 'FING!', a family fantasy film adapted from David Walliams' bestselling children's book, featuring Taika Waititi and Mia Wasikowska in lead roles. The story follows librarians Mr. and Mrs. Meek, who embark on a quest to satisfy their daughter Myrtle's desire for a Fing, a creature that proves to be as destructive as her whims. The film, directed by Jeffrey Walker and co-written by Walliams and Kevin Cecil, also stars Penelope Wilton, Richard Roxburgh, and newcomer Iona Bell. Produced as an Australian-U.K. co-production, it is backed by AGC Studios and Sky, with plans for theatrical release in Australia and New Zealand, followed by a premiere on Stan. Walliams, who also appears in the film, expressed excitement about the project and its unique humor. The film is being shot at Screen Queensland Studios, supported by the state's Production Attraction Strategy.
