Wim Hof Biopic Production Halted Amid Abuse Allegations

The production of a biopic about Dutch extreme athlete Wim Hof, known as the 'Iceman', has been put on hold following serious allegations of domestic abuse from his former partner, Caroline, and their son, Noah, along with her two children from a previous marriage. The allegations, reported in de Volkskrant, detail 13 years of physical and verbal abuse, including specific incidents of violence and emotional torment. Hof has denied these claims, labeling them as false and defamatory, and has announced intentions to pursue legal action against de Volkskrant for publishing what he calls unverified accusations. The biopic, which was set to star Joseph Fiennes, has been paused by production company Genesius Pictures due to the severity of the allegations. Caroline approached the newspaper after being contacted by a producer, revealing a history of abuse that included physical attacks during her pregnancy and accusations of humiliating treatment towards her children. The film’s narrative, which was intended to portray Hof's life journey from a struggling postman to a wellness guru, is now overshadowed by these troubling claims.
