Sofia Vergara has undergone a significant physical transformation to portray Colombian drug lord Griselda Blanco in Netflix's 'Griselda'. In interviews, she explained the challenges of subduing her natural curves to embody the character, stating, 'I didn’t want the bouncing that is natural for Latin women to show.' This transformation involved over four hours of daily hair and makeup, including prosthetics and a complex wig application, alongside the use of uncomfortable undergarments to achieve the desired look. Vergara also learned new skills, such as smoking, to enhance her portrayal. Despite the difficulties, she expressed her commitment to making viewers forget her previous role as Gloria from 'Modern Family'. The miniseries has garnered positive feedback, and Vergara's performance has earned her an Emmy nomination.
