Murata Launches Automotive Chip Beads for 5.9GHz V2X Noise Suppression

Murata Manufacturing has introduced the BLM15VM series, a new line of automotive-compliant chip ferrite beads designed to provide wide-band noise suppression for high-frequency 5.9GHz 5G vehicle-to-everything (5G-V2X) communications. These components enable improved sensitivity and noise suppression critical for advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) and autonomous driving by supporting error-free high-frequency communication, particularly in V2X and dedicated short-range communication (DSRC) systems. Unlike traditional RF inductors that operate over narrow frequency bands, the BLM15VM series offers broad high impedance across multiple frequency bands, simplifying component selection and enhancing performance. The beads are compact, AEC-Q200 compliant, operate across a wide temperature range (-55 to 150°C), and are also compatible with consumer communication standards such as Wi-Fi 6E and Wi-Fi 7 in the sub-6GHz band. Mass production of the BLM15VM series is scheduled for July 2025, highlighting Murata's commitment to advancing automotive noise suppression technology for connected and autonomous vehicles.
