College Football Playoff Hires Justin Fuente Senior Advisor
The College Football Playoff (CFP) has appointed former Memphis and Virginia Tech head coach Justin Fuente as its first Senior Advisor for Football in a newly created role. Fuente, with a 21-year coaching career including conference championships and coach of the year honors, will provide guidance on operational matters to enhance the quality of the CFP, consulting with FBS conference offices, the NCAA, and other officials. His responsibilities include advising on playoff policies, game operations, officiating, technology, and medical considerations. CFP Executive Director Rich Clark praised Fuente's knowledge and perspective as invaluable to the organization. Fuente expressed enthusiasm for the opportunity to give back to the sport and assist in growing the CFP event. Prior to his head coaching roles, Fuente held various offensive assistant coaching positions and has recently worked as a color analyst for TCU's radio team, allowing him to balance this new advisory role.
