Lucas Herbert Wins Asian Tour International Series Japan by Five Shots

Lucas Herbert secured his maiden Asian Tour and International Series title with a dominant five-shot victory at the $2 million International Series Japan held at Caledonian Golf Club in Chiba. The 29-year-old Australian closed with a seven-under-par 64, including an eagle on the 18th hole for the second consecutive day, finishing at 20-under-par for the week, well ahead of runners-up Yuta Sugiura and Younghan Song. Herbert's remarkable comeback featured a 10-shot swing in the final holes of the third round, aided by a thrift-store putter he recently acquired in Korea and a new Titleist GT3 driver, which he credited for much of his success. Despite early challenges, Herbert's consistent tee-to-green play and hot putting allowed him to maintain the lead and dominate the final round. Sugiura and Song both put in solid performances but were unable to match Herbert's pace, with Song briefly leading early in the final round before fading. Herbert’s victory also elevated him to the top of the Asian Tour Order of Merit and the International Series rankings.
