Michigan Man Found Dead in Tennessee Towed Hummer

The body of 63-year-old Dale Hilsabeck from Lansing, Michigan, was found inside his locked 2007 Hummer H3 at a tow yard in Murfreesboro, Tennessee. The vehicle had been towed from a Walmart parking lot on April 5 after being reported abandoned, and the remains were discovered nearly a month later on May 1 by tow yard employees who noticed a strong odor and flies coming from the vehicle. Hilsabeck was found lying on a sleeping mat in the back seat, which was folded down, and the windows were covered with blackout material, making the interior difficult to see. Police have confirmed Hilsabeck as the registered owner and are awaiting autopsy results to determine the cause and time of death. The investigation remains ongoing, with no suspicion of wrongdoing by the towing company or Walmart, both of which are cooperating with authorities. Murfreesboro Police's Violent Crimes Unit is handling the case as they continue to seek answers.
