Mariners Rally to Defeat Phillies in Extras
The Seattle Mariners completed a dramatic rally from a 5-0 deficit to defeat the Philadelphia Phillies 6-5 in extra innings, handing the Phillies their sixth consecutive loss. Mitch Haniger drew a walk with the bases loaded in the bottom of the 10th inning to secure the win for Seattle, marking his seventh career walk-off. Seattle's comeback was ignited by Haniger's solo home run and a four-run sixth inning. Phillies' All-Star reliever Jeff Hoffman, who had a 0.98 ERA, was instrumental in allowing the Mariners to tie the game. In a separate game earlier in the series, Luke Raley and Justin Turner powered the Mariners to a 10-2 victory with a three-run homer and a grand slam, respectively. Seattle's Bryan Woo pitched seven shutout innings, further compounding Philadelphia's struggles.
