Florida Workforce Housing Initiatives Expand Across Miami-Dade, Palm Beach, Gulf County

Several initiatives across Florida are advancing workforce and affordable housing to address rising housing costs and shortages. In Miami-Dade, Integral Group plans 330 affordable units through two projects in Liberty City and Homestead, leveraging the Live Local Act and the federal Rental Assistance Demonstration program to provide below-market-rate housing. Palm Beach County launched its inaugural Housing Leadership Academy to build local leadership and capacity among professionals tackling housing instability and homelessness. Meanwhile, The Breakers Palm Beach secured zoning approval to build a 155-unit employee housing complex in West Palm Beach, with over half designated as workforce housing to support its large workforce facing steep local rents. Miami Beach unveiled Anamar at Collins Park, an innovative workforce housing project owned by the city and operated by a nonprofit, generating long-term revenue while providing affordable units for residents and Miami City Ballet students. In Gulf County, a community land trust is being established with county support to build affordable homes for local workers, aiming to keep housing accessible and prevent real estate speculation in an area with high housing costs.
