Wall Collapse Near Mahakal Temple Kills Two

A tragic incident occurred in Ujjain when a wall of the Maharajwada School near Mahakal Temple collapsed due to heavy rainfall, resulting in the deaths of two individuals and injuries to four others. The victims, identified as 22-year-old Farheen Khan and 27-year-old Ajay Yogi, succumbed to their injuries after being trapped under the rubble. The injured, including a three-year-old girl, were rushed to various hospitals, with some referred to Indore for further treatment. The wall's collapse was attributed to accumulated rainwater weakening its structure, prompting immediate rescue operations by local authorities. The Ujjain district administration announced financial assistance of Rs 4 lakh for the deceased's families and Rs 50,000 for the injured. This incident raises concerns about safety in the ongoing renovations related to the Mahakal Lok Corridor project, which aims to expand the temple complex significantly.
