Helicopter Crash in Bentley Kills One, Injures Three

A Robinson R44 Raven II helicopter (reported registration G-CFNF) crashed into a field off Ings Lane/Ings Road in Bentley, near Doncaster, at about 10:14–10:15 GMT on 30 October after taking off from Gamston/Retford. A 70-year-old man suffered serious injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene; the pilot (41), a 58-year-old woman and a 10-year-old boy sustained minor injuries and are being supported. FlightRadar24 data indicate the aircraft’s transponder was active after takeoff before the helicopter disappeared from radar. The crash occurred close to factories on an industrial estate and prompted a large emergency response of dozens of vehicles; authorities have asked the public to avoid the area and use alternative routes. South Yorkshire Police and the Air Accidents Investigation Branch have launched a joint investigation, remain at the scene, and are urging witnesses and anyone with footage to come forward.
