Vineyard Estate in Monmouth Listed for Sale

Richard Morris and his wife Joy transformed a dilapidated farmhouse and surrounding fields in Monmouthshire into the Ancre Hill estate, now valued at £3.4 million. Initially intending to spend their retirement traveling to vineyards, they returned to the UK out of boredom and purchased the crumbling property in 2006. After studying viticulture at Plumpton College, Morris developed three vineyards across 22 acres, producing 30,000 bottles of wine annually. The estate includes a refurbished farmhouse and is recognized as one of the world's most sustainable wineries. Currently on the market, the estate features additional farm buildings, including a cider mill and barn. Morris reflects on the journey with disbelief, highlighting the rewarding shift from a desk job to working outdoors in the vineyard.
