Two Pennsylvania Residents Charged With Election Fraud In 2020, 2024 Elections
Two Pennsylvania residents, Matthew Laiss and Miya Pack, have been charged with election fraud for allegedly voting in two different states during federal elections. Laiss, who moved from Bucks County, Pennsylvania to Frostproof, Florida in 2020, is accused of casting a mail-in ballot in Pennsylvania and then voting in person in Florida during the 2020 presidential election. Pack, registered to vote in both Bergen County, New Jersey, since 2004 and Philadelphia County, Pennsylvania, since 2016, allegedly voted early in New Jersey and again on Election Day in Philadelphia in 2024. Each faces charges of voting more than once in a federal election and voter fraud, with potential penalties including up to five years in prison, supervised release, and fines ranging from $10,000 to $250,000. The cases highlight ongoing concerns about election vulnerabilities and voter fraud in the U.S. These investigations were announced by U.S. Attorney David Metcalf and involved cooperation between federal and state authorities.
