Missouri Woman Sentenced 57 Months for Fraudulent Graceland Foreclosure Attempt
Lisa Jeanine Findley, a Missouri woman, was sentenced to 57 months in federal prison and three years of supervised release for orchestrating a brazen mail fraud scheme to fraudulently auction off Elvis Presley’s Graceland estate. Findley falsely claimed that Elvis' daughter, Lisa Marie Presley, had taken out a $3.8 million loan using Graceland as collateral, fabricating documents and publishing fake foreclosure notices in 2024. The fraudulent foreclosure sale was halted after Presley’s granddaughter, Riley Keough, sued to stop it, exposing the scam. Findley, who has a history of financial crimes, also posed as multiple individuals connected to a fictitious lending company to pressure the Presley family for a $2.85 million settlement. Federal prosecutors highlighted the need to deter similar conduct, and the judge emphasized the seriousness of the offense during sentencing. After the scam unraveled, misleading emails were sent to news agencies claiming the perpetrators were West African identity thieves, but the investigation confirmed the fraud was orchestrated by Findley.
