American Museum of Natural History Plans Sleepover Program Return in 2025
The American Museum of Natural History is reviving its popular family sleepover program, A Night at the Museum: The Overnight Experience, starting October 24, 2025, after a hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Designed for children ages 6 to 12 and their caregivers, the program offers unique after-hours experiences such as guided flashlight tours of dinosaur fossil halls, live presentations, scavenger hunts, group games, and the opportunity to sleep beneath the iconic Blue Whale. Tickets for the first three monthly sleepovers will be available beginning September 30 for museum members and October 7 for the general public. Museum President Sean Decatur emphasized the program's ability to create lasting family memories through immersive activities reminiscent of the original 2006 program launched alongside the Night at the Museum film. The program requires one adult chaperone per five children ages 8 to 12 or per child under 8, with adults not attending as chaperones and children under 6 excluded from participation. This revival continues the museum's tradition of engaging families with its exhibits in a dynamic and memorable way.
