China Calls for Security Review of Intel Products

The Cybersecurity Association of China (CSAC) has called for a security review of Intel's products, alleging that the U.S. chipmaker has consistently jeopardized China's national security and interests. Although CSAC is not a governmental body, its strong ties to the state suggest that its recommendations could lead to further scrutiny from the Cyberspace Administration of China (CAC). This development follows a similar move last year when the CAC prohibited domestic operators from purchasing products from Micron Technology after a failed security review. Intel's shares have already experienced a decline of 2.7% in premarket trading in response to the announcement. The increasing tensions between the U.S. and China in the tech sector continue to escalate, with significant implications for global technology and business operations. Intel has yet to respond to the allegations made by the CSAC.
