The Delhi High Court has dismissed Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's plea challenging his arrest by the CBI and his bail plea in connection with the alleged excise policy scam. Justice Neena Bansal Krishna ruled that Kejriwal's arrest was justified and not illegal, granting him the liberty to seek bail from the trial court. Kejriwal, who was arrested by the CBI on June 26, plans to approach the Supreme Court against this ruling. The court noted that the CBI had filed a charge sheet implicating Kejriwal and others, and described him as the 'sutradhaar' or facilitator of the alleged scam. Kejriwal's counsel had argued that his arrest was an 'insurance arrest' to keep him in prison, but the court found the CBI's reasons valid.
