Myrtle Beach Woman Arrested Reckless Homicide May Crash
Leigh Ann Rayno, 52, has been arrested and charged with reckless homicide following a deadly crash in Myrtle Beach on May 25, 2025. Rayno rear-ended a stopped vehicle on Kings Highway near 9th Avenue South, causing the stopped car to collide with another vehicle and fatally injure 83-year-old Robert Brasington of Lancaster, SC, who died days later from blunt force injuries. Witnesses reported that Rayno appeared to be “dancing” in her vehicle, not paying attention, and video evidence showed she did not attempt to brake before the collision. Additional citations against Rayno include reckless driving, driving under suspension, operating an uninsured vehicle, no seat belt, and open container, with an open bottle of alcohol found in her car. She was held on a $50,000 bond at J. Reuben Long Detention Center. The crash also caused injuries to multiple other people and significant damage to four vehicles.
